If you stumble upon an enemy or prey during a hunting or border patrol, or are battling another Clan, you may bring out six different cats. There are four lanes: Lane 1, Lane 2, Lane 3 and Lane 4. Lanes 1 and 4 are farthest from the enemy (1 round to enter battle), while lanes 2 and 3 are closest (instantly enters battle). Assign cats into these lanes and strike. Your opponent does the same, and when both sides have chosen their lanes, the game master will post the round results for each lane (loss of health for each individual cat and specific injuries). Cats can regenerate health by 2 points each round. This will continue until eight rounds are completed. The health of both sides are calculated, and whoever has the highest health wins the battle. Then the winner can take what they came for. Hunts and non-cat battles are the same in terms of lanes and health regenerating, but instead the session lasts until either the prey flees, the patrol flees, or the prey is killed. The prey takes up one lane, unless there is more than one animal. If your patrol kills the prey, they earn freshkill depending on the size of the prey. Winning either battle will grant your cats EXP.
