Skills are the four basic functions a warrior cat has. There are four skills in Avlod: Battle, Hunting, Dominance and Healing. These determine how well a cat can complete an action. When your cat is introduced to the game, they start with two points in each skill. However, some cats may have an aptitude for a certain skill, and has five points in that specific skill in place of the normal two. There's a 10% chance that a starter cat can have an aptitude, and a 20% chance for cats with parents in the game. Aptitudes are also heritable. If a parent has an aptitude in a certain skill, the chance for getting an aptitude for that skill in one of their kittens is increased to 30%. So if you want your cat to be especially awesome at something, look for cats with an aptitude and raise the points in that skill as your cat levels up and earns more EXP. It's also possible, but very rare, that a cat has more than one aptitude. That means they're good at two skills, three skills, even all four if you're lucky! Battle: How well your cat performs in battle. Hunting: How well your cat can detect and kill prey. Dominance: How well a cat can keep hold of a group of cats (best for leaders). Healing: How well your cat can identify herbs and heal cats (best for medicine cats).
